| Generally, [ISM] do not play "No Cross" or "No Rules" games. We have found that "No Cross" results in limited, predictable and stationary game-play while "No Rules" degenerates into a low-tech Run-N-Gun game of spawn killing. We prefer to play a game that is somewhere in the middle; One that requires tactical maneuvering, patience and results in an exciting, close game. This can best be described as "No Spawn". As a reminder, we will post the following in our games; "Do not enter the enemy Spawn Area" We use the |GotS| Spawn maps to define the "No-Go" or do not enter areas of the map. There is a red zone for the Russians, and Green zone for the Germans, and a white area in the middle. Simply put, do not enter or place mines in the enemies colored area. - |GotS|CrazedWeasel wrote:
The borders of these areas have been carefully laid out through long experience, not with the intention of following the contours of all the spawn points exactly, but with the idea of generally respecting the spawn points, while keeping the map in balance between the two teams, and maximizing the potential for good game-play. On some maps, you will find areas where the teams can get quite close to their enemy's spawn area. This is intentional, as it allows both teams to exert considerable pressure on their enemy, but from a position that can be difficult to get to or hold. This opens up more tactical possibilities and creates more exciting game-play. As an important side note; The enemy cannot enter your spawn area. Therefore, there is never a need to place mines in your own spawn area. When we post "No mines in spawn - No exceptions" this is a reminder to not place mines in any painted area. Lastly. We frown on "Dancing". This is the rapid side-to-side motion that some players use when they stand and shoot. This is a Sniper game; Use cover, deception, tactical maneuvering and teamwork to win. If you stand or run, expect to get shot. | |
